Foundation Relations and Sponsored Research (Grants Office)

Support for Grant Funding

The Office of Foundation Relations assists faculty and administrators to identify external funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies, for institutional initiatives and other academic priorities. We help prepare and submit proposals, and provide grant management support after an award has been made.

The Office of Sponsored Research supports faculty members applying to government agencies and external funders for grants to support their research, scholarship, and other creative work.

In addition, the sponsored research officer serves as a liaison to faculty on responsibilities related to grant administration and compliance with regulations for expenditure of federal funds.

The offices of Foundation Relations and Sponsored Research report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, and the Vice President for Advancement.

Our office also supports the Dean of Faculty’s Internal Faculty Grants Program. We facilitate the proposal submission, review, and award phases. The Dean’s office then manages all post-award activity including reimbursements. Guidelines, deadlines, and application form are available at this NEW site located at my.mtholyoke.
