Global Leadership Virtual Internship Program Summer 2021

For over 175 years, Mount Holyoke College has been educating women for thoughtful, effective, and purposeful engagement in the world. Experience has taught us that international internships serve as one of the most powerful learning laboratories for the education of global citizens. To this end, the MHC International Internship Program (MHC-IIP) places highly qualified students as summer interns in select partner organizations around the world.

While students may not be able to travel internationally to participate in in-person experiences, for summer 2021, MHC-IIP is partnering with several international education providers to offer a suite of remote internship opportunities that span various industries and international locations.

“In a world becoming more reliant on connecting, collaborating and performing virtually, our remote internships educate, enable and empower you to develop skills today that will prepare you for employers' needs of tomorrow.” CAPA Global Education Network

Partnering organizations were selected based on existing current college affiliation, as well as comprehensive recruitment, orientation, and reflection components. These IIP remote opportunities would operate alongside MHC’s Lynk Internship model and datesand are open to any MHC student from any discipline.

Students are matched with opportunities that meet their learning goals while increasing their global network and accessing resources for professional development.

Students apply directly to the Internship provider program to be placed in an internship opportunity. Students must ALSO apply to the MHC Lynk program to obtain funding for the Global Leadership Virtual Program. (Step 1 and Step 2)

The Global Leadership Virtual Internship program is open to any Lynk eligible student.

Prior to your program confirmation, you will be informed by the provider as to whether or not you can be successfully matched to an internship opportunity. Providers will NOT confirm you into the program if they can not provide you with an internship opportunity.

If you have completed all of the steps for Lynk funding (including completing step 2 to confirm your participation in your chosen program) and are eligible to receive funding you may be able to get your deposit fee postponed until after you receive your Lynk award.

Each MHC Global Leadership Virtual Internship provider has been reviewed and briefed on MHC Lynk Guidelines. Dates and requirements for Lynk funding have been reviewed and approved and added to provider listing in Handshake.

Global Leadership Virtual Internship Providers review your learning goals and career objectives. Their internship advisors meet with you to review your resume and get a clear sense of your internship goals.
