Graves in Cambridge
Marjorie Hakala '06
One day I walked into the center of Cambridge to get away from my books and discovered that St. Botolph's, an old stone church adjacent to my college, had its doors open for a tag sale. I took it as a chance to see their walled churchyard, a riotous, scraggly garden with vines clambering over ancient tombs and headstones. My academic worries were pitifully small among these memorials to people centuries dead, members of this parish and beloved wives and faithful sons, shaded with roses while the rain slowly wore their names away.
