Our Dark, Truthful Reality
Sabina Yesmin '06
This picture shows the back of a South African primary school in a township called Mamelodi. More than 30% of South Africans are infected with HIV/AIDS. This is one of the initiatives South Africa took to accept the deadly reality and not to stigmatize its people with HIV/AIDS. This powerful image portrays the secret of love and the truth about our relationships with our friends and families. HIV/AIDS, the horrifying deadly disease is physically and emotionally draining for everyone involved but that's not an excuse not to love and be a friend.
