Gender and Elections Intern
Location: Washington, DC
|IFES works to promote equal rights, justice and political participation for women around the world. The Gender and Elections intern will work closely with the Senior Gender Specialist and Gender Program Coordinator on new initiatives that will require outreach to global gender and elections experts and IFES field staff. The intern will also be involved in programmatic and administrative aspects of IFES’ Gender Working Group.|
|Under the supervision of the IFES Senior Gender Specialist and Gender Program Coordinator, the Gender and Elections Intern will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the startup of the IFES Women’s Electoral Leadership Liaisons (IFES-WELL) network, organizing contact lists and communicating with members;
|- A student in political science, international relations, gender studies, or related focus area;
- Interest in Gender and Elections issues (relevant experience a plus);
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills; and
- Proficiency with Word and Excel.
