Global Partners' Program

Adjusting to a new country, culture and community can be exciting, as well as challenging. Coming back home from time abroad can be as well! The Global Partners program matches incoming international first years with current Mount Holyoke students returning from a year or semester abroad.

The purpose of the program:

  • Introduce new international students to returning students who have been abroad.
  • Initiate personal connections that will examine the unique experiences students have as they adjust to another culture.
  • Broaden the support system for all participants as they become part of the Global community at MHC.

As an incoming international first-year you will:

  • Establish connections with current MHC upper class students or with new international students before they arrive on campus.
  • Process your cultural adjustment experience through personal meetings with other Global Partners.
  • Attend group events to meet other Global Partners.

As a returning study abroad student you will:

  • Establish connections with incoming international students who experience many of the same things you did as you prepared for and participated in your study abroad experience.
  • Process your cultural adjustment experience through personal meetings with other Global Partners.
  • Attend group events to meet other Global Partners.
