I have declared a major, or, if I intend to declare a special major, I have discussed my plans with faculty advisors (if I will be away for all or part of my junior or senior year).
I have obtained approval for, or at least discussed with the appropriate department chair, all courses that I expect to use toward distribution, language, major, or minor requirements.
I have read the information provided to me about leaves of absence and credit transfer, and I understand that it is my responsibility to follow appropriate procedures to ensure credit transfer.
I understand that study abroad is not pass/fail: I will receive grades, and must earn grades equivalent to C- or better in order for credits to be transferred.
I understand that credits only, not grades earned abroad, will be posted to my MHC transcript, unless otherwise stated.
I understand that I must enroll in the standard normal (not minimum) full time course load at my program/host institution, which may be fewer or more than four courses per semester. Any request for a reduced course load (for academic, medical, or other reasons) must be approved in advance by the McCulloch Center.
I understand that the normal full-time courseload will transfer to Mount Holyoke as 16 credits per semester upon successful completion. If I receive grades below C-, or if I am granted permission by MHC to enroll in a reduced course load, I understand that I will receive fewer credits.
I understand that credits will be transferred toward my Mount Holyoke degree for liberal arts courses completed with grades equivalent to C- or better. Courses outside the liberal arts transfer on a limited basis, and it is my responsibility to consult with the Registrar's Office in advance about any such courses that I wish to take.
I understand that transfer credits are limited to a maximum of 16 credits for one semester of leave, or 32 credits for two semesters or one academic year of leave.
I understand that I am subject to the academic and other policies of my host institution or program; MHC policies do not apply elsewhere.
I understand that final approval of my request to study abroad is contingent upon my being in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing with Mount Holyoke College. Approval may be rescinded if my most recent semester or cumulative GPA drops below 2.7, if I am placed on academic probation prior to going away, if my account is not paid in full at the end of the semester preceding my first semester of leave, or if I am subject to any social disciplinary or other sanctions prior to study abroad.
