Study Abroad Deadlines

Submit the Request to Study Abroad according to these deadlines.  The Request to Study Abroad is an on-line form, available in ISIS, that incorporates the Laurel Fellowship application for students applying for financial aid.  All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on the date indicated.  The on-line application will close at that time on each due date.

Please note: If you are applying to study abroad in spring 2014, please e-mail the McCulloch Center to request a PDF version of the application.

In some cases, we may be able to consider late applications for certain programs, if there is space available, and if you are not applying for a Laurel Fellowship. If you are interested in a program for which the deadline has passed, contact the McCulloch Center. Students applying for Laurel Fellowships must meet the stated Laurel deadlines.

Note that deadlines for Laurel Fellowships (financial aid) take precedence over any later deadlines listed below for particular programs, and are firm.

Most exchanges are open to all qualified students regardless of their financial aid status.

Special note on German- and Spanish-speaking exchanges (University of Bonn, University of Leipzig, University of Potsdam, University of Costa Rica, University of Hurtado, and University of Cordoba):

Our exchange agreements with these universities are under review; students interested in these exchanges should have an alternate plan of study for another program.

* Special note on German exchanges: Bonn and Leipzig

Exchange places at Bonn and Leipzig (including tuition waiver and stipend) are for the full-year only. Priority is given to students who are eligible for need-based financial aid. Bonn and Leipzig will also consider additional (non-exchange) applicants for the year or spring semester; students should follow the same application procedures here as for the exchange.

** Special note on UK exchanges

Exchange places are reserved for students who are eligible for need-based financial aid; students not seeking Laurel Fellowships may apply independently to any of these universities according to their respective deadlines and procedures. The York exchange is open only to English majors, but students in other disciplines may apply to York independently as well.

Submit the Request to Study Abroad Form and the Oxford University Visiting Student application to the McCulloch Center.

Deadline: December 6, 2013, for Academic Year 2014-2015, or spring 2015.

Mount Holyoke has an agreement with St. Anne’s College at Oxford to facilitate applications from our students. Oxford has a centralized application process through the Undergraduate Admission Office, and students may apply directly; however, students who wish to be considered for study at St. Anne’s must apply through Mount Holyoke. We will review applications and forward them with our recommendation, if you meet the general requirements for Oxford (minimum grade point average of 3.7, at least four or five courses completed in the major by the end of sophomore year, strong recommendations, and a detailed plan of study). St. Anne's prefers students to come for the full year, but may consider applications for the spring two-term program. Students recommended by Mount Holyoke are not guaranteed admission, but generally will receive priority over equally-qualified applicants from non-affiliated schools.
