Study Abroad Deadlines

Submit the Request to Study Abroad according to these deadlines.  The Request to Study Abroad is an on-line form, available in ISIS, that incorporates the Laurel Fellowship application for students applying for financial aid.  All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on the date indicated.  The on-line application will close at that time on each due date.

In some cases, we may be able to consider late applications for certain programs, if there is space available, and if you are not applying for a Laurel Fellowship. If you are interested in a program for which the deadline has passed, contact the McCulloch Center. Students applying for Laurel Fellowships must meet the stated Laurel deadlines.

Note that deadlines for Laurel Fellowships (financial aid) take precedence over any later deadlines listed below for particular programs, and are firm.

Oxford
(St. Anne's College), UK
Submit the Request to Study Abroad, and the St. Anne's College Visiting Student application (available from the McCulloch Center in October).

For Academic Year 2015-16, or Spring 2016: December 5, 2014.

Mount Holyoke has an agreement with St. Anne’s College to facilitate applications from our students. We will review applications and forward them with our recommendation, if you meet the general requirements for Oxford (minimum grade point average of 3.7, at least four or five courses completed in the major by the end of sophomore year, evidence of the ability to work independently, strong recommendations, and a detailed plan of study). St. Anne's strongly prefers students to come for the full year, but will consider applications for the spring two-term program if space is available. Admission is very competitive, even with Mount Holyoke's recommendation.

Other Programs
All Other Affiliated or Approved Programs

Submit the Request to Study Abroad.

For Spring 2015: Apply by November 1, 2015.

For Fall 2015 or Academic Year 2015-16: Apply by March 1, 2015.

For Spring 2016: Apply by November 1, 2015.

You must also submit the application for admission directly to the program or host university according to their deadlines, which may be earlier than MHC deadlines, but may also be much later.  See program/university websites for details.  Most programs have "rolling admission," and applications are reviewed as soon as they are completed; early application means you will receive an earlier decision.  We recommend that you apply to programs/universities in February/March (for fall admission) or August/September (for spring admission), unless the stated deadline is earlier.  Students who meet the admission requirements and who apply in a timely way generally can expect to be accepted.
