When a new job is created and approved, the Department Head/Chair, or supervisor should follow the procedure listed below:
- Prepare a Job Analysis Form for Human Resources review.
- Human Resources, with input from the Department Head/Chair, or supervisor, will evaluate the job based on the major responsibilities to determine a provisional salary grade.
- After an employee is in the job for six months, Human Resources will request that the employee update the Job Analysis Form. The revised form will be reviewed by the Department Head/Chair or supervisor and submitted to Human Resources. At that point, the salary grade will be determined.
Please note that the job evaluation process by Human Resources requires at least two weeks.
