Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS)
In 1996 the library, information services, electronic services and the language resource center merged to form Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS). LITS supports the information and technology needs of students, faculty, and staff. It combines the library, administrative and office computing, the network, and curriculum support services.
- Community Technical Support (x2600)
CTS supports the public student computing labs, the Call Center (x2600) and the repair and replacement of all College-owned computers and printers. Annually CTS sends a Request for Computer Upgrade form to each department in order to plan and budget for hardware and software installations. The Call Center is staffed Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. For telephone support, call x2600 or use the online support tracking tool, Track-It! with hardware and software questions and problems on College-owned computing equipment.
- Administrative Computing (x2286)
Administrative Computing provides consultation, design, programming, interfaces, training, and support for the applications that support the College's business functions. These include MHC Web, Online College Catalog; Cyborg (Human Resources and Payroll); Lawson (Financials); Summit (Alumnae/Development); Powerfaids (Financial Assistance); Datatel; and MyMountHolyoke (the Internet Student Information System).
- Network Services (x2140)
Network Services designs, installs and manages the campus-wide network.
- Media Resources (x3162)
Media Resources supports mediated classrooms and circulates media equipment for short term uses.
- Research and Instructional Support
RIS is a combined computing instructional support and library reference services unit. RIS supports the use of information and technology in teaching. This unit also coordinates LITS training sessions for supported hardware and software. Visit the LITS Web site to request training or register for classes.
The library offers reference assistance to faculty, students and staff and provides a number of useful ready reference sources such as telephone books on their Web site.
LITS service hours are posted on the Web site.
