National College Health Assessment (NCHA)

The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a national survey by the American College Health Association (ACHA) of college students' health habits, behaviors, and perceptions.  Over 825,000 students and 550 colleges and universities have participated in the survey since the launch in 2000.  The survey seeks to inform higher education institutions about health factors that may be affecting academic performance and thereafter develop ways to address these concerns.  Since a major survey redesign in Fall 2008, the survey has been called the NCHA II.  Mount Holyoke's Health Center began administering the NCHA in Spring 2003 and has administered the survey in odd years until switching to an even-year administration in Spring 2012.
