Supported File Formats
Due to the proprietary nature of many file types, it is important to create and store your electronic records in formats that will help maintain their integrity. The following are formats that LITS currently supports. Please refer to these guidelines when you save and upload files to the Student Theses Collection.
If you have any questions about file formats or need help determining the best format for your thesis or project, please contact DAPS.

File size guidelines for thesis submission
Generally, small to medium sized files are best for access/playback and downloading.
- Save as TIFFs or JPEGs and keep the size to about 2MB or around 2000 pixels on the longest side.
- Create a version that is about 50-60MB. Higher resolution files will be accepted, but you may wish to break a longer video into sections for easier uploading and access.
