Meeting Maker Upgrage

Meeting Maker upgrade - April 7th 2011

After April 7th the college will be running a newer version of meetingmaker.  You will need to upgrade the program on your computer.  Most of the process will be automatic. If you run into problems or have questions please contact the helpdesk at X-2600 or helpdesk@mtholyoke.edu

Windows

  • Launch meetingmaker and attempt to sign in. Windows 7 users (with the round button at the bottom-right of your screen instead of the green - rectangular "start"), right-click the meetingmaker icon and choose to run as administrator.
  • It will present you with a window stating that you need to upgrade your client, do you wish to install?  Click yes.
  • It will download the newest version.  A progress bar will appear that could take up to 15 minutes to complete.  If the program acts unresponsive please don't attempt to quit.
  • When the bar finishes, the install window will appear.  Click next
  • Leave the destination folder as is - the default location, and click next
  • When prompted what to do with local meetingmaker database, leave the default setting "move the data", and click next
  • You may un-check the top two checkmarks for the read me and getting started guide and click Finish
  • Sign in again and your calendar should load
  • If you receive a message that the "network is not configured," you will need to configure the server settings.  Here are the configuration settings.

Mac

  • You must restart  your computer first.  (This is important.)
  • Launch meetingmaker and sign in.  It will ask you if you want to upgrade.  Choose yes -- install.
  • You will need to click the lock and provide your username and password that you use to sign into the computer.
  • Leave the default folder as is and click next.
  • When asked to overwrite the existing folder, click OK.
  • Leave default setting to copy Meeting Maker data and click "next."
  • The next screen asks where you would like the icon for Meeting Maker.  It's recommended to choose "in the dock," however this is your personal choice.  Click Install.
  • When finished, click the optinon to launch Meeting Maker.
  • When signing in for the first time, you will see a message asking if you wish to revert or work offline; choose revert and your calendar should load.
  • Meeting Maker crashes when "reverting" proxies: If Meeting Maker crashes when you revert a proxy, with Meeting Maker closed, open your Macintosh_HD and navigate to your home folder (house with your username in the left side of the navigation window), then Library, and Preferences. Drag the Meeting Maker folder to the trash. Relaunch Meeting Maker, and it will recreate that folder.
  • If you receive a message that the "network is not configured," you will need to configure the server settings.  Here are the configuration settings.
