Associate Professor of Art Ligia Bouton

Associate Professor of Art Ligia Bouton’s opera project, “Inheritance: A Multimedia Chamber Opera,” premiered at University of California, San Diego, on October 24. This opera is a collaboration between Lei Liang (composer), Matt Donovan (librettist), Susan Narucki (soprano), and Bouton (production design) and was directed by Cara Consilvio. 

“Inheritance” tackles America’s inability to separate fact and fiction in the contemporary debate about guns and gun violence and was supported by grants from the NEA, Creative Capital and New Music USA.
