Hughes '74 Speaks on Gender Gap in Politics

In this video, political consultant and strategist Mary V. Hughes '74 explains why she believes 2012 is similar to 1992, an election year in which women made historic gains in congressional elections.

Hughes, who spoke at Mount Holyoke September 27 as a guest of the Weissman Center for Leadership, has advised female political candidates for more than 20 years. She is also co-founder of The 2012 Project, a non-partisan initiative with the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University to increase the number of women in Congress and state legislatures.
