On October 12, more than 600 people attended MHC's LEAP Symposium, the College's annual showcase of student research projects and internship experiences. In 36 panels held throughout the day at the Kendade Science Center, 149 students presented on their summer experiences and shared reflections on what they learned about themselves.
The symposium, which is in its ninth year, is intended to demonstrate the strong connections between academic work at Mount Holyoke College and its practical application in the world. Students conducted research in both the field and in laboratories, some working with MHC faculty members close to home, while others partnered with other mentors in places ranging from Alaska to Sweden.
Work experiences were also global in reach, and students traveled to more than 25 countries for their immersion into the world of work.
