Making internships happen for everyone

Edith Amoafoa-Smart ’19 is a SAW (Speaking, Arguing and Writing) peer mentor and a member of the Mount Holyoke Model UN.

Edith Amoafoa-Smart ’19 and Liz Lierman, director of Mount Holyoke College’s Career Development Center, appeared on ABC 30 Action News, the ABC affiliate in Fresno, California, about the importance of internships for undergraduates and the College’s programming that facilitates it.

When Amoafoa-Smart, an international relations and French double major, wanted to take an unpaid internship at the United Nations, she received a stipend through Mount Holyoke’s Lynk initiative that enabled her to work at the UN.

KSLA News 12 also covered their interview.
