On Wednesday, November 19, economics professor James Hartley was one of three panelists addressing nearly 50 local business leaders who joined together on the Mount Holyoke campus for a breakfast examination of the current economic crisis.
The Chamber's First Annual Economic Forum was sponsored by the South Hadley/Granby Chamber of Commerce and Mount Holyoke. Speakers were (from left to right in photo) economics professor James Hartley, chamber president Andrew Beaudry, and FundQuest investment consultant John Gardner.
The speakers discussed the forces behind the economic crisis, but were wary of predicting when the current recession will come to an end. The chamber hopes to continue forums on the economy and other key business issues in the future.
