Politics professor Christopher Pyle knows something about whistleblowing: In 1970, he disclosed the U.S. military’s massive surveillance of civilian politics, and he worked to bring the practice to an end as a consultant to Senator Ervin’s Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights, Senator Frank Church’s Select Committee on Intelligence, and the American Civil Liberties Union. This past summer, Pyle has been called upon by dozens of media outlets to discuss the Bradley Manning case.
