Members of the extended Mount Holyoke community will be able to watch Gail Collins's May 23 commencement address--and the rest of the time-honored ceremony--anywhere in the world again this year--just as they could in 2009.
Live streaming of the event will begin shortly before the commencement procession steps off at 10 am. The procession--composed of MHC president Joanne V. Creighton, honorary degree recipients, trustees, faculty, and graduates—will be followed by the commencement ceremony in Gettell Amphitheater at 10:30 am. Web viewers will need Adobe Flash Player version 9 or higher and a high-speed Internet connection to watch the event on their computers.
Noted author and New York Times columnist Gail Collins will give the commencement address and receive an honorary degree at the 173rd Mount Holyoke College commencement on Sunday, May 23. Three other women also will receive honorary degrees: outgoing MHC president Joanne V. Creighton; educator, social worker, and activist Sheila Barshay Goldbloom '47; and world health entrepreneur Victoria Hale.
