Violinist Linda Laderach, professor of music, and pianist Larry Schipull, professor of music, will open the music department's spring 2007 concert season Sunday, February 4, at 4 pm in McCulloch Auditorium with a performance of music by W.A. Mozart, Edward Elgar, and Joseph Jongen. The concert is free and open to the public.
Together, the faculty duo has collaborated in recitals, and radio concerts, and as members of the Mount Holyoke Baroque Ensemble. They have toured western Europe and the United States since 1989 with recitals on Baroque violin/harpsichord and fortepiano, and modern violin/piano and organ. In April they will be performing artists on a tour of Holland and Belgium sponsored by the Alumnae Association.
Laderach and Schipull have recorded a CD of Beethoven sonatas on historical instruments and produced an interactive CD-ROM program titled Rediscovering Beethoven's Opus 23 through Historically Informed Performance.
