Starting at 6 pm on Saturday, September 8, NightFest 2007 will transform Skinner Green into festival grounds featuring a giant inflatable laser tag arena; an illuminated rock-climbing wall; and an outdoor movie theatre, featuring Moulin Rouge, starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. Festival music will be provided by WMHC 91.5 FM deejays.
Free gourmet ice cream from the Bart's Homemade truck and free fresh popcorn (while they last) will be served. Glow necklaces or bracelets in one of the four class colors also will be available.
In the spirit of NightFest, two artists will perform before the movie and at locations throughout the festival grounds. Poi Star Fire Dance Productions will feature two talented fire dancers from Cambridge, Massachusetts, who also perform with poi and silk. Hoop Master Sass, freshly returning from Burning Man, the reigning "Governor of Sassachusetts," invites you into the Circle of Sass with ample hoola hoops for everyone and a chance to learn from a master.
Immediately following NightFest, a Welcome Back Party, hosted by MHC's own WMHC 91.5 FM, will take place in the Blanchard Great Room from 10 pm to 2 am, open to all, with beer and wine-cooler service for those 21+ with ID.
6-11 pm: laser tag, rock wall, Bart's ice cream (while it lasts), roving performers, music by WMHC, and more
8 pm: performances by Poi Star artists and Hoop Master Sass
8:30 pm: outdoor movie Moulin Rouge
10 pm-2 am: WMHC's Welcome Back Party in the Blanchard Great Room
In the event of rain, laser tag will be located in Chapin Auditorium from 6 to 11 pm, with free ice cream available (while it lasts). Hoop Master Sass and the Poi Star artists will perform on the Blanchard stage at 9:30 pm. Moulin Rouge will be shown in the Blanchard Lounge, Room 227, at 8:30 pm. Free glow jewelry will be available at the WMHC party.
