MHC's Ellis: Very Opinionated
Posted: January 4, 2007
Joseph J. Ellis, Professor of History on the Ford Foundation, has not only written a new best-selling book looking at the nation's founding, American Creation: Triumphs and Tragedies at the Founding of the Republic, in recent weeks he's written two opinion pieces for leading papers. A December 23 op-ed for the Washington Post--"What Would George Do?"--examines how the study of history can inform understanding of current issues, while a January 2 piece in the LA Times--"A Promise of Unpredictability"--focuses on the promises made by presidential candidates over time.
