Mount Holyoke Athletics Honors Laurie Priest

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Nov. 30, 2007) - The Mount Holyoke College Athletic Department hosted a surprise tribute to Laurie Priest at Thursday's basketball contest versus RPI. A halftime ceremony highlighted the event, which was organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Head field hockey coach Andy Whitcomb spoke on behalf of the staff, and senior Natalie Martin represented the student-athletes.

Priest, the Chair of Physical Education and Director of Athletics at the College since 1989, was recently named one of "The 100 Most Influential Sports Educators in America" by the Institute for International Sport. She was amongst a group that included Pat Summit, Tiger Woods and Bob Costas.
