Summer Programs at MHC

Posted: June 21, 2006

As it does every summer when the campus empties out, Mount Holyoke is hosting a variety of interesting programs this year. Musical offerings include a guitar camp for graduate students in guitar taught by Phillip de Fremery, a music instructor at the College, and the Arab Arts Institute, a six-day program of intensive studies in Arab music history, theory, and performance that attracts participants from throughout the United States. Young athletes will come to participate in gymnastics, tennis, rowing, basketball, soccer, and swimming.

Perennial programs include SummerMath for Students, SummerMath for Teachers, and the Gordon Research Conference, a one-week gathering of scientists to examine and exchange ideas at the research frontiers of the biological, chemical, and physical sciences.

The College is also hosting several enrichment programs for young people, including North Shore Upward Bound and Girls' Leadership Inc.
