Susan R. Barry to be Featured on Fresh Air

Thursday, August 12, 2010 - 14:45

Professor of Biological Sciences Susan R. Barry will discuss her book Fixing My Gaze on the nationally syndicated NPR program Fresh Air with Terry Gross on Monday, August 16. In the book, which has recently been published in paperback, Barry talks about growing up only being able to view the world flat, in two dimensions, and how, decades later, an optometrist helped her retrain her brain so she could finally see her surroundings in three dimensions.

If you’re in the Pioneer Valley area, you can listen to Barry’s Fresh Air segment when it airs on 88.5 FM WFCR at 7 pm Monday (others should consult their local NPR station listings). You’ll also be able to listen to the segment, after it airs, on Fresh Air’s Web site.
