Tea Party's Carender Promotes, Inspires Activism

Keli Carender, who is credited with organizing the first modern-day Tea Party rally in 2009, recently came to Mount Holyoke to share her story of individual activism that helped spark a national movement.

Carender’s visit was organized by the Harriet L. and Paul M. Weissman Center for Leadership and the Liberal Arts. While on campus, she participated in a pair of events, beginning with a Student Leadership Seminar in the afternoon, followed by a public lecture that evening.
