Sonya Stephens assumed the role of president of Mount Holyoke College on July 1.

She will be inaugurated in events both dignified and festive over the weekend of September 27 – 30, with the official ceremony held on Saturday, September 29.

The selection of Stephens to be the College’s 19th president was announced by the Board of Trustees on April 23, 2018. Stephens had been serving as acting president since July 1, 2016.

The Mount Holyoke College Board of Trustees came to its enthusiastic, unanimous decision about the institution’s leadership after an extensive presidential selection process that began in January 2018.
