MHC Shakti Venue, American School of Bombay
The program will showcase a range of interactive workshops for girls in secondary school year 11 or 12 (as of August) and will feature successful and motivational women speakers who will share their career journeys as well as leadership insights and visions for the role of women in India. The program will highlight confidence, self awareness, resilience and flexibility as participants practice the skills they will need to pursue their goals.
Dates: The 2020 MHC Shakti conference has been cancelled due to COVID-19. Dates for the 2021 conference will be posted when available.
Venue: Mount Holyoke College is proud to work with American School of Bombay (ASB) as our local partner. ASB's location and tremendous facilities make it an ideal venue for the MHC Shakti program.
Tentative 2021 conference application deadlines:
- Early bird: July 2, 2021
- Regular deadline: August 2, 2021
The 2021 application will be available in January.
Program fee (non-refundable):
- Early bird applicants (see above): INR 17,500, due by July 23, 2021. Early Bird applicants who submit payment after July 23 will be required to submit the full fee of INR 20,000.
- Regular deadline applicants: INR 20,000, within one week of being admitted to the program.
The fee includes all luncheons, snacks, high tea at the Smoke House Deli and the closing ceremony. Accommodations, other meals, and personal expenses are not included. Admitted students will pay the program fee to the American School of Bombay (instructions will be in the letter of acceptance).
Group discounts: Contact the MHC Shakti office (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information about discounts to students from schools sending five or more attendees.
Financial assistance: Mount Holyoke College is pleased to provide ten need-based awards to cover the MHC Shakti program fee (see Program fee above) to admitted students who are referred to the program by a MHC Shakti NGO partner. Students who earn a program fee award will be responsible for travel and accommodations.
