Whether it may be hot/cold cups, forks, knives, spoons, plates, or napkins, the CE can help you make your activity green.

Through the smallest measures, your party can be both economically viable and environmentally sustainable. Use hot/cold cornstarch cups at your next faculty tea, have recycled-paper plates at your upcoming cultural night, or simply cleanup with biodegradable bags.

Why compostables?

Have you ever looked at the contents of the trash after a party or gathering? Have you felt guilty cleaning up after a meal during a picnic finding heaps of cups and plates made of plastic?

Plastic and Styrofoam disposables are made from petroleum based chemicals and additives. Petroleum is not only becoming an increasingly scare resource, but it causes pollution and toxicity every step of its use—extraction, transportation (eg. oil spills), refining and eventual production of the end use product (ie. Disposable cups, plates, knives...etc.) In addition, the end use products made of Styrofoam and plastic do not degrade and persist in the environment for centuries, causing further pollution and toxicity.

Eco-friendly Biodegradable Dining Ware

You can decrease your toxic environmental impact by consuming less plastic products and switching to alternative materials, such as washable dining ware or biodegradable disposable ware. Crystal clear cups for cold drinks are now manufactured with biopolymers and polylactic acid (PLA), which are derived from plant products such as resin, corn, or potatoes. Even forks, knives, and spoons that are equally durable and strong are made from cornstarch. Hot cups are made by renewable plant fibers and coated with a non-water soluble, plant-derived lining, which will ensure the container to be as versatile and usable as the traditional paper cup.

Best of all, these PLA products are completely biodegradable and don’t release carcinogens when burned.
