“Material Culture and Memory"

The Italian professor from Mount Holyoke gave two talks at University College Cork, Ireland.

Ombretta Frau, professor of Italian, delivered a paper at a conference on “Material Culture and Memory, All Things Considered,” at University College Cork, Ireland, in November. The title of was “Cursed Desire: Ill-fated Heroines and Their Quest for Jewelry in Nineteenth Century Italian Short Stories.” She also gave a talk to the Italian department, titled “Between Books and Reading Rituals: New Models for Nineteenth Century Women or Elaborate Stage Designs?”
