Namita Thapar

Namita Thapar is the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Pune with a turnover of over 4,000 crores. It has a presence in over 60 countries and an employee strength of over 10,000.

She is a chartered accountant from ICAI and earned an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Prior to joining Emcure, she worked in the United States for six years in various roles in finance and marketing at Guidant Corporation (now Abbott - Stent business). Since joining Emcure in 2007, she manages multifunctional portfolios like finance, domestic marketing and human resources. She manages the pan-India operations of over 3,000 medical representatives, contributing to over 1,000 crores sales.

In addition, she is on the boards of Finolex Cables and the Fuqua School of Business. She is also the founder and CEO of Incredible Ventures Ltd, an education company that teaches entrepreneurship to 11 – 18 year olds in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad. She is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Pune.

She is a recipient of the prestigious Economic Times ‘40 under Forty’ award, the Economic Times 2017 Women Ahead List, and is a part of the ‘Champions of Change’ program initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for G2B partnership in policymaking.
