Radhika Vaz

Radhika Vaz is one of the India’s most recognized stand-up comedians and has garnered a robust international following. Her one-woman comedy specials “Unladylike” and “Older. Angrier. Hairier.” have sold-out in New York and Los Angeles, along with every major Indian city. Her edgy web series “Shugs & Fats” won a prestigious Gotham Award in New York last year and was featured at the Tribeca, Tacoma and Miami film festivals. Vaz was named one of Filmmaker magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film.”

Hailed as “the funniest person you will ever meet” by Harper’s Bazaar, Vaz performs regularly at private events for lifestyle-oriented brands like American Express, McKinsey & Company, Ikea, Audi, Rado Watches and Makemytrip.com.

Vaz has also been featured in Vogue’s “The Power of 50” and is a frequent guest on New Delhi Television and Radio One. She is a prolific writer (Vogue, Verve, GQ, Architectural Digest) and her biweekly column on the Times of India’s op-ed page reaches millions of readers and her book, “Unladylike: A Memoir” is now in bookstores across the country.

Vaz is known for her outspoken views on gender roles and has been invited to speak and perform at university panels, fund-raising events and literature festivals, including the Times of India’s literature festival, The Shift Series, India Radio Forum Awards, Young Presidents Organization, The Foreign Correspondents Club, Columbia University, Women’s Education Project and Human Rights Watch.

Vaz began her career in New York City, and she has trained with members of the Groundlings School in Los Angeles, the Upright Citizens Brigade, the Magnet Theatre and The Second City. She is a visiting faculty member at Improvolution. In her spare time she power-lifts and watches really bad reality television.
