What was your first job after MHC?: General surgery residency

Favorite class/professor and why: Dr. Lilian Hsu (biochemistry). She was really excited about the subject and her enthusiasm rubbed off on her students. Biochemistry was also challenging, but I enjoyed a challenge!

Talents and/or passions discovered at MHC: Connecting across cultures and religions and with people from completely different walks of life.

What do you value most about your liberal arts education?: It made me a more well-rounded individual and exposed me to areas that I wouldn’t have tried if I hadn’t attended a liberal arts college. I found out I was good at more than one discipline and I had more interests than I realized previously.

Why is a women’s education still relevant today?: It’s a unique environment where women are empowered to be leaders and to be successful.

What do you want the world to know about MHC?: It was a great experience for me. Not only did I receive a strong education, but I also acquired leadership skills and the confidence and capability to be successful not only in my career but also in life. In addition, MHC is unique in that you meet and interact which students from all parts of the world and all walks of life, which is a special and wonderful experience in itself.
