Barbara Yen Sun Prize First Round Application
The Asian Studies Program faculty is pleased to announce the Barbara Yen Sun Prize competition for 2017-18. Students majoring in East Asian Studies or Asian Studies-Transregional or minoring in Asian Studies and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and research in East Asian Studies are eligible. The prize of $500-$800 may be used to support innovative independent study projects involving East Asia, including but not limited to senior thesis research. Apply before November 30, 2017.
Egyptian American musician, dancer and educator, Karim Nagi delivers this dynamic concert and demonstration. He performs on various traditional Arabic percussion and melodic instruments, while including the audience to participate from their seats. Additionally, he demonstrates various styles of folkloric dance from around the Arab world.
A Middle Eastern dinner will be served after the event.
