There are a number of instrumental ensembles at the College including the Symphony Orchestra, Euridice Ensembles (17th/18th century period chamber ensembles), string/wind/mixed small ensembles, the Flute Choir, the Klezmer Band, the Jazz Ensembles (Big Band and Chamber Jazz) and the West African Music Ensembles. Choral ensembles include the Chorale, Glee Club and Chamber Singers, the Early Music Ensembles (Collegium and Voces Feminae) and Vocal Jazz. Auditions are required for participation; students receive 1 credit per semester.
Rehearse and perform Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music, open to singers and players with or without experience.
Students who have never studied an instrument, music majors and jazz players focus on music from Togo, Ghana and Benin.
Open to all instrumentalists, this one-of-a-kind ensemble specializes in the dance music of Eastern Europe.
Mount Holyoke's two flute choirs are structured to provide performing opportunities for intermediate through advanced flutists.
One of the largest musical groups on campus, with members from the entire college community and from the Pioneer Valley.
Participants appear in a number of concerts and events on campus which have fast become traditions.
