Learn to empower your students through hands-on creative projects designed to help understand the applicability of technology across various disciplines. Class sessions provide an introduction to electrical circuits, Arduino based programming and other tools to create projects ranging from light up circuit cards, LED plushies/dolls, wearable technology, basic robotics and more. While the technical aspects of this course are introductory, the pedagogical content is at the advanced/graduate level. By the end of this course, you will have developed an interdisciplinary unit integrating technology to implement in the classroom using the Understanding by Design framework. The unit will be designed using the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, Common Core Standards, and the Massachusetts Technology Literacy Standards and Expectations. The final session will include participants teaching a lesson to their peers.
