Living and Working Green

Mount Holyoke College is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of campus operations and student life on campus. While all community members play a role in this effort, students who call Mount Holyoke home for much of the year have a particularly significant opportunity to green it.

The College is actively working to reduce its footprint in areas that include energy and climate change, waste reduction and recycling, green building, responsible land management, water conservation, and hazardous materials management.

Get Involved

Embedding environmental sustainability into every campus operation is coordinated by the Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability.

Among the various programs are the Eco-Reps and the Green Living Council, which work with students, departments and offices to provide education about how each member of the community can contribute to sustainability.

Any level of involvement is welcome. Please submit ideas for making Mount Holyoke a greener campus, or email campus sustainability with comments and suggestions.
