Erik Zimmerman

College Psychiatrist

Pronouns: he/him/his

Professional/Clinical Interests:

  • Psychopharmacology
  • Psychodynamic psychotherapy
  • Medical Administration

What students may notice about my therapeutic style:

My approach to psychopharmacology is conservative and data-based. I feel I need to have a broad picture of a client’s history and life in order to use medications intelligently. I view psychopharmacologic treatment as a collaborative effort. I try to educate my clients and then help them make the best decisions for themselves.

Campus Liaison Roles, Outreach Positions and Departmental Responsibilities:

Medication Management
Consultation to clinicians

When I’m not at work...

I enjoy modern fiction, independent films, running, politics, family and friends.
