Katherine Walker researches early modern drama, science, and magic. Her current book, "Instinct, Science, and Knowledge on the Early Modern Stage," looks at how the concept of instinctive knowledge informed Renaissance understandings of making knowledge through the body. Walker is particularly interested in how marginalized figures adopt or advance methods of reading the environment on the stage. Walker's work appears in the journals Prose Studies, Comitatus, Early Modern Literary Studies, Studies in Philology and Preternature: Critical and Historical Studies on the Preternatural and is forthcoming in English Literary History.
