Kathryn Lipp

Katie Lipp works with Mount Holyoke students and alums interested in the health professions and oversees all pre-health programming at Mount Holyoke. She can provide guidance on course selection, academic and extracurricular preparations for professional school applications, and general exploration of the healthcare field. When MHC students or alums are ready to apply to professional school, Katie provides support throughout the application process.

Katie received her B.A. in anthropology from Bates College, her M.Ed. in social justice education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Certificate in Outdoor Leadership from Greenfield Community College. She has taught and advised students in a variety of educational settings in high school and higher education, including teaching English in Eastern Europe and advising international students in the United States. Katie spent seven years at Smith College where she served as director of Smith's pre-health program and administered programs aimed at increasing equity, access and diversity in STEM fields. She worked for three years as a part-time advisor in the MHC pre-health office before taking on the Pre-Health Director role in 2017. 

Katie remains actively involved in professional development as a 10-year member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP). Through this association Katie also volunteers as an advisor for those who cannot otherwise access pre-health support, and she has served on the NAAHP northeast regional Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.

Out of the office, Katie devotes her time to her two children and loves cooking, gardening, and hiking near their home in Deerfield, MA.
