Front-Page News

Word is getting out about MHC’s new kosher/halal dining facility. An October 24 article by Associated Press writer Adam Gorlick focuses on connections being made between Jewish and Muslim students. In the article Melissa Simon ’04 talks about the value of being able to break bread together and learn about each others’ values and beliefs. “I think a lot of understanding and tolerance has grown out of just sitting down and eating together,” says Simon. The Associated Press is the world’s oldest and largest news organization, serving 1,700 newspapers in the United States alone. The October issue of the Connecticut Jewish Ledger also reports on the new dining facility. Staff writer Tracy Sullivan focuses on how the facility meets the dietary needs of the College’s observant Jews and observant Muslims.
