Web Watch: Britannica Rules

Since it's such a hassle to lug that multivolume set of Encyclopedia Britannicas everywhere you go, students, researchers, and knowledge-hounds across campus will be happy to hear about the newest addition to the MHC library website. Encyclopedia Britannica is now available online either from the library site, or directly at this URL: http://www.eb.com/. And, unlike the paper version, this EB has a fully searchable database. For example, searching for references to "education for women" brings up links to topics ranging from women's liberation leaders and women's professional sports to women's education in literature and a biographical sketch of Mary Lyon.

In addition to comprehensive information on thousands of topics, there are also links to other websites (including MHC's own, though the link is labeled "Mount Holyoke University") and updated information not found in the print version.
