It turns out that there is such a thing as a free lunch after all! But the real treat of the upcoming faculty/staff/student luncheon series is that it lets each segment of the MHC community get to know the others. Faculty and staff are encouraged to invite students, and students are welcome to invite faculty and staff members to join them for a meal.
Reservations are required and must be made at least two business days in advance by calling the Office of Residential Life at x2088. Each lunch is limited to fifty participants. Luncheons, all of which will be held in Prospect dining room from noon to 1:15 pm, are scheduled for October 2 and 16, November 6 and 18, and December 10.
Family Weekend 1997 will be held October 3-5. Families who plan to attend must register for all meals and entertainment before the weekend. The Capitol Steps, a musical political satire group, will perform Saturday evening. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and must be purchased by registration form before the weekend. All other events are free for MHC students. Registration forms are available at the Blanchard information desk. For more information, call x2896.
Volunteers are needed for all Family Weekend events. Each student volunteer will receive a free Family Weekend 1997 T-shirt. Those interested can leave a message at x2896.
Free, anonymous HIV testing and counseling is available to all Mount Holyoke students. There will be no documentation of this testing in your medical record and your name will not be associated with your test results. However, the HIV testing staff are Mount Holyoke Health Center employees, whom you may know from previous Health Center visits and whom you may see again. For further information or to schedule an appointment, call x2121 and choose option number three on the voice-mail answering system. No names are required.
