New Student Orientation

Orientation for spring admits and transfer students begins Monday, January 4, 2020, and will continue through Monday, January 18, 2020. All Orientation content will happen online. A full schedule will be shared with new students via their Mount Holyoke email by the start of December.

New students will have access to an array of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded) content. Asynchronous, on-demand content will be in Moodle — the College’s learning engagement platform — and allow new students to self-pace through required components, including community guidelines, Be Well programming, academic success and much more.

New students will also be able to engage in synchronous, live content for opportunities to meet other new students, build connections and develop community. Synchronous live sessions will occur using Zoom and will include small assigned Orientation groups with an Orientation leader, social programming, and online drop-in hours with staff such as deans, Library, Information, and Technology Services (at MoHome, known as LITS) and more must-know members of our community who cannot wait to welcome you to Mount Holyoke.

We will provide Orientation content and experiences specific to international students, as well as first-generation and low-income students. More information will be provided when the full schedule is shared.

Our hope is to offer in-person Orientation components, specific to the on-campus experience, to new students who are able to join us in person in January. More details and information will be sent to new students via their Mount Holyoke email addresses throughout the next few months.
