Emily Eshlemanis a member of the class of 2013 and has served on the MERT executive board for two consecutive years. After taking her EMT course in the January of her first year at MHC and receiving her MA-EMT license that summer, she ran and was elected in her sophomore year as Assistant Director of MERT. In her junior year, she was elected Director and will serve until January 2013. She is an Environmental Studies major and is also working towards receiving a five-college certificate in Culture, Health, and Science. Aside from being the Director of MERT, she also is a member of ADAC (the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Committee), the Peer-Health Education Alliance, the WMHC Radio, and she works in the Athletic Training Room as a hired EMT to help the athletic trainers. After graduation she hopes to receive a Masters in Health Science in Environmental Health and then go on to medical school afterwards.
Caledonia Mooreis a junior at Mount Holyoke this year. She is a pre-med student majoring in Spanish and Biology. She has been part of MERT since the spring of her freshman year, and was elected to the position of assistant director in the spring of her sophomore year. In addition to her activities as assistant director, Cali also works as a student health aide at the campus health center and as an Organic Chemistry tutor. After spending the summer of 2012 teaching first aid and emergency response to community health workers in Peru, she is now considering MD/MPH programs in her post-graduation plans. This December, Cali hopes to run for the position of director of MERT.
Sarah Copelasis a senior at Mount Holyoke College. She is majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Chemistry and a Five College Certificate in Culture, Health and Science. She has been on MERT since taking the EMT class freshman year and she is looking forward to a future in the healthcare field. In addition to being a dedicated MERT member, she serves on the Executive Board of the Outing Club, volunteers off campus at a domestic violence shelter, and tutors for the Anthropology department.
Simone Koois a junior here at MHC, majoring in English and minoring in Film Studies. She became EMT certified and joined MERT because of her interest in emergency medicine (and because it's always good to know first aid) but unlike a lot of people on the team, is not a pre-med student. She crochets dolls as a hobby.
