Eco-Orientation

This juice box is recyclable, but this solo cup isn't? Can I put that chicken bone in the compost? MHC has an organic garden? Come learn the ins and outs of living "green" at MHC while getting to know your way around MHC! The Eco-Reps are here to help you navigate our recycling and composting systems, save energy and water, and have fun along the way! All participants will be entered into a drawing of a grand prize!

Staying Healthy in College: How to Succeed

Learn more about the strategies and resources available to help you acheive and maintain healthy choices in nutrition, exercise, sleep, relaxation techniques and personal safety. Games, quizzes, practice of relaxation techniques and review of resources on campus.

The Big Picture at MHC - Tricks and Tips on Time Management

Bring your schedule and an open mind to this interactive session on learning how to manage the next chapter of your life at Mount Holyoke.  Collegiate life is more than just showing up to class – it is navigating life both inside and outside of the classroom.  You will learn how to set yourself up for success by being intentional and self-aware with your time.  Session will include handouts of The Weekly Grind and The Big Picture so you can be prepared  as you get your syllabi to always know what is coming down the pike.This session is the perfect opportunity to get ahead of the game and to hit the ground running!  This session is offered again on Sunday, September 2nd at 10:00AM.

Living Well: Sustainability for the Non-Environmentalists

Blending basic principles of social justice with life changes that make an actual difference in our ecological footprint, this program clearly identifies 5 simple steps that can immediately be incorporated in our lives.  Learning more about our ecological footprint vs. just our carbon footprint will have participants thinking about their purchases, intentions, aspirations, and goals in a way that doesn't drum up guilt or shame.  This mind shift is about doing less with less inside of a system that is dependent on growth and more consumption.  Join in a for a conversation about where our self worth really comes from and how we can build community without harming it.
