Laura Smiarowski

Interim Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff reports directly to the president and works closely with her on a wide variety of executive and administrative duties and special projects, involving the President's Office and its initiatives. These include promoting and supporting the mission of Mount Holyoke College; overseeing the administrative, operational, and financial affairs of the Office of the President; serving as a liaison between the president and the officers and senior staff of the College, including staffing meetings at this level; developing and coordinating special and high-priority projects and initiatives; drafting briefings, coordinating and contributing to communications, and preparing special correspondence; and serving as liaison to internal and external constituencies. Prior to coming to Mount Holyoke, Laura served in finance roles at Smith and Hampshire Colleges. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
