Andrew Gael teaches math at the Cooke Center Academy, a school for students with disabilities in lower Manhattan, New York. He is also working with Illustrative Mathematics to create accessibility for students with disabilities to the Open Up Resources middle school mathematics curriculum.
Gael has contributed to NCTM’s Math Tasks to Talk About blog, Becoming the Math Teacher You Wish You’d Had, and the Global Math Department Newsletter publications. His current interest is the diversity of the learning process for each individual student as well as working towards equitable access for all students to the highest quality mathematics instruction.
