Shannon Gurek joined Mount Holyoke College as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer in August 2013. As the College’s chief financial officer, she oversees Budget and Treasury Management, Finance, Facilities Management, Human Resources, Auxiliary Services – which includes Dining, Conferences and Events Services, Auxiliary Services Center and Willits Hallowell, Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability and Risk Management (performed by Five Colleges Incorporated). She also provides oversight for outside counsel relationships, supports the work of the Investment Office related to the College's endowment and oversees non-campus real estate holdings.
Gurek came to Mount Holyoke from Amherst College where she was a member of the finance staff since 1996.
A Certified Public Accountant, Gurek holds an undergraduate degree in business administration, summa cum laude, from Nichols College, and an M.B.A. from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
